Bill Nye “The Science Guy” will visit the Creation Museum in Kentucky to debate evolution with the museum’s founder, Ken Ham

A Big Think video featuring Nye was posted to YouTube in August, 2012, and has garnered nearly 6 million views. In the video, Nye argues that evolution is the fundamental idea in all of life science. Therefore, according to Nye, if grownups want to “deny evolution and live in your world that’s completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that’s fine, but don’t make your kids do it because we need them.”

The video triggered many responses, including this one from the Creation Museum. The Creation Museum promotes the idea that the Earth was created about 6,000 years ago.
