As cycling legend Greg Lemond explained to Phil Donahue at The Nantucket Project, a festival of ideas on Nantucket, MA, imagine going to work every day and having to put your arm out, get hooked up to an IV and given twenty different drugs. 

Lemond is the first (and only) American to have won the Tour de France, a feat he accomplished three times, and accomplished cleanly.
