No hurricanes. No cyclones. No tropical storms in the Atlantic, Pacific, or Indian Ocean. That was September 8, 2013. A total of 14 satellite images taken by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite were stitched together to create this unusual view. 

Call it the calm before the storm, as tropical storm Humberto formed on September 9.
