What Will it Take to Get More Women in Technology?

I feel women really need to be running their own companies so they can set new ground rules for how you can be a mother, a good mother and also participate in society.

I think that the internet really allows for more inventive and flexible ways for women to engage in society and also be mothers.  Sometimes I think the internet was the tool the feminist movement always needed because when my mother went back to school to get her PhD she had to leave the house and I was eight and it was hard, but I am able to run my film studio and I only go into my studio twice a week and the other three days I pick up my kids from school and I’m able to work before that.

I feel women really need to be running their own companies so they can set new ground rules for how you can be a mother, a good mother and also participate in society. I think that’s going to open up women in fields like science and technology, but I really do feel like the web has certainly opened up so many opportunities for women to engage in the world.
