Daniel C. Dennett is a distinguished American philosopher, writer, and cognitive scientist known for his influential contributions to philosophy, evolutionary psychology, and atheism. He is the Austin B. Fletcher Professor of Philosophy at Tufts University and is recognized for his extensive body of work, including books like "The Intentional Stance" and "Inside Jokes: Using Humor to Reverse-Engineer the Mind." 

In "Intuition Pumps and Other Tools for Thinking," Dennett presents a collection of intellectual techniques – referred to as "intuition pumps" – that can be used to dissect complex problems, challenge assumptions, and foster more informed decision-making. Dennett encourages readers to question deeply held beliefs, navigate cognitive biases, and explore alternative perspectives.
