Michael Kaufman is an advisor, speaker, and writer who has worked in fifty countries with the United Nations, governments, corporations, unions, schools, and NGOs. His focus is on engaging men to promote women’s rights, end gender-based violence, support diversity and inclusion, and positively transform the lives of men.

His most recent non-fiction book is The Time Has Come: Why Men Must Join the Gender Equality Revolution. His latest novel is a near-future mystery, The Last Exit.

He served the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of France as a member of Canada’s and France’s respective G7 Gender Equality Advisory Councils in 2018 and 2019. He has worked with the United Nations in New York, Rome, Paris, Beijing, Kathmandu, Ankara, Geneva, Nairobi, Washington, Santiago, Jakarta, and Delhi. He is the co-founder of the White Ribbon Campaign, the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women. The international organization of civil servants, Apolitical, named him to its “Gender Equality Top 100 — The Most Influential People in Global Policy.”
