While Apple once fought the Evil Empire of Microsoft, now Google finds itself battling an Apple that is obsessed with control and closed-source programming. “One year from now,” predicts Knealse, “the iPhone will lose its perch as the world’s most important mobile platform, toppled by Android, the ‘open,’ all-comers-welcome design from Apple’s avowed enemy, Google.”
