Gabriel García Márquez: People Grow Old When They Stop Pursuing Dreams

Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014) was a Colombian novelist and among the most significant authors of the 20th century. The recipient of the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature, Márquez is probably best known for his masterpiece novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, as well as for Love in the Time of Cholera and his many memoirs. His work is considered the most vivid and prodigious of all magical realism. The quote below comes from Márquez’ 2004 novel, Memories of My Melancholy Whores.
