Good news for natural gas.


“Natural gas is in the process of wiping out the coal industry, and it’s wiping out the nuclear industry quicker than we thought.”

That’s what NRG Energy CEO David Crane told The Wall Street Journal’s ECO:nomics conference. Moreover, many are arguing that this transition may be accounting for the drop in CO2 emissions in the U.S., which fell 12 percent last year from their high in 2005. In other words, CO2 emissions are at their lowest levels since 1994.
